, not just in the peninsula but also along the western coast of mainland mexico. coastal flooding will also be an issue here. all right. that big winter storm system that's been moving across the northwest is now moving to the east and intensifying, so we are going to find the snow towards the north and then it is going to turn into thunderstorms, some of them becoming quite severe in the midwest. behind that it is going to be dry and low humidity and very strong winds and that spells fire weather and there are warnings and watches posted to that effect. los angeles 35 degrees. no snow here. it stays hot in the south. even oklahoma city at 24 degrees is starting to cool down. i will leave you now with the extended forecast. >>> that concludes this edition of "newsline." thanks for joining us.

because of that. in mexico, for instance, the variation of time was 1 1/2 meters. as you can see there, when that happened, 3.34, immediately we have different waves. the high of that wave was at about 50 meters but one hour after that in one place we start having waves of 30 meters. a happened in the island of guata after that, 7:00 in the morning we are still having different waves at different places in the coast arriving every 30 minutes and the average high was about 15 meters, which is a lot. another massive effect was that the south american plate jumped over nafka plate, or nafka plate gets down. we moved 3 meters to the west and at the same time we lift up at about 3 meters in certain areas. so navy -- this is very important because in some places where you are supposed to get into with your ships, not any more. so a hydrographic survey, certain port was absolutely mandatory when you have this event. i said to the australian staff, because of that we are closer neighbors right now. here you can see an example that was before the earthquake, the distance of the low tide.

to this country as immigrants. my dad was born in mexico of american parents. my wife's that was born in wales and is a first-generation american. we welcome legal immigrants into this country. i want our legal system work better. i wanted to be streamlined. i don't think he should have to hire a lawyer to figure out how to get into this country legally. i also think we should give visas to people -- green cards, rather, to people who graduate with skills that we need. people around the world with accredited degrees in science and math, get a green card stapled to their diploma, come to the u.s. aid. we should make sure our legal system works. we should stop illegal immigration. there are 4 million people who are waiting in line to get here legally. those have come here illegally take their place, so i will not grant amnesty to those who come here illegally. i will put in place an employment revocation system and make sure that employers that hire people have come here illegally are sanctioned for doing so. i will put them place magnets for people coming here illegally, so for instance, i woul

the country. moisture in the gulf of mexico coming from hurricane paul in the pacific. we're watching another system coming through the northern plains approaching the northern mississippi valley. this guy will bring us some rain mainly tomorrow night. i think the time is going to work out pretty well so that it shouldn't impact too many plans. however, we've got to worry about if you've got anything going on tomorrow night, it will slow you down. today the futurecast, those passing clouds time otherwise a quiet day. maybe 71. for tonight we're quiet, 52 in town with 40s in the suburbs. on thursday we'll have partly sunny skies but late in the day we may see a shower develop up top the upper part of the bay but with the storm system coming out west, better chances in western maryland and west virginia late in the afternoon. our rain chances really pick up after dark. overnight they'll be with us but i think the stuff could be out of here before sunrise on friday. and if this scenario plays out, well, then we're going to have noticeably a nice stretch of weather with very few bumps in the road
